Today I posted an article on my website for the first time in two years. “Grappling with Openness” started as an exploration into why I am currently keeping my romantic partnership more private, but very quickly— as it often does— the article took on a life of its own. It became a much larger exploration into how and why we share and the importance of sharing from a place of integrity. As I started recording for this substack audio post, I realized that the article itself was the tip of the iceberg regarding the subject.
Our desire to share from a place of “truth” must be done with such a deep reverence for integrity. Sometimes integrity means sharing, and sometimes it means holding things in. Even when sharing something with a single person, it’s important to ask ourselves why we’re sharing it.
Although my substack audio rambles are usually a part of the paid membership, I decided to make this one fully accessible because it really feels like an extension of the written article.
I would recommend reading the written article first and then listening to this audio.
And then follow up with the audio next:
I hope you enjoy this written and audio combo. If you’re not a subscriber but would like to be, you can pay monthly or get a discount on a yearly membership. You’ll get access to all my substack posts, where I dive into and unravel many other topics and share on a much more personal level.
Love,
Cam
